Friendly advice v professional advice?

We often hear about people taking advice from friends when it comes to making a Will:

“My uncle wrote his own Will, it’s so simple”

“You don't need a Will; you’ve got nothing to leave anyway”

“Your estate will automatically go to your wife and children”

“A Will can’t be challenged”

We're not saying all friendly advice is poor advice, however would you call a plumber to fix a hole in the roof?
